it's summer solstice, and it is completely fine to wear white this time of year. i figured it was as good a time as any to show a parallel that i acquired just over a year ago - a panini golden age steve garvey white border card:

i appreciate that panini left garvey's jersey number red here, in what is a nice shot from a home game in dodger stadium. someday i will do some research and figure out what years garvey used rawlings gloves as opposed to louisville slugger.

I enjoyed the Golden Age product line. Kind of surprised Panini doesn't bring it back since it seemed to be popular with at least some collectors. I opened up three boxes of 2012. I should dig through my boxes to see if I pulled a white border parallel.
ReplyDeletei agree with you - i figured that this would be their allen & ginter's type set each year. maybe they see diamond kings that way now, but i prefer this over dk.
