i had a lot of cards from 2003 in one of those forgotten monster boxes i've mentioned a few times. here's one of them:
topps remained loyal to the original set by using "hit by pitcher" rather than the (now?) proper phrase "hit by pitch". maybe in 1951 people said hit by pitcher? i don't know, but i do know that robin ventura is the most memorable guy to have been "hit by pitcher", as long as we are only considering fists and not bats. i can't imagine any pitcher raising a fist to mr. pujols here.

DeleteRyan vs. Pujols. Put a 42 year old Nolan vs. a 42 year old Albert into a ring... and that would definitely be a battle of the ages.
ReplyDeleteryan was probably a bit more nimble at that age than pujols is. still, i think pujols would let ryan tire himself out then bring the hammer down.
