thanks bo. i should have looked more closely. i agree it's the expos' home stadium. for what it's worth, alex trevino's card in this same set also features a photo from a game against the expos in 1985 and i should have figured fleer would have likely used photos from the same game.
Shea had a solid color on the facade of the dugout roof. Looking more closely at this card it matches the greenish color of Olympic stadium as well as the thicker facade past the dugout. The bright yellow seat also helps. I also watched some YouTube clips of expo games from 1985.
Most of the NL Fleer cards at this time were shot by photographers based in Montreal and Philadelphia. I've interviewed both of them for my blog. This photo was presumably by Steve Babineau in Montreal.
I've somehow never seen this card. Guess I need one now!
ReplyDelete(Thanks for the recent PWE, by the way! The Dime Box Dozen need is much, much appreciated.)
you are welcome nick!
DeleteThat's definitely not Shea Stadium. Pretty sure it's Olympic Stadium in Montreal.
