boone-ya!

it doesn't elevate to the point where i put this 1974 topps chris speier card

in my lurker mini-collection, but it's nice to see phillies catcher bob boone there sharing space on the card. the other phillie in the background unfortunately doesn't look like mike schmidt - i think it's cesar tovar who played third for the phils sometimes in 1973.

anyway, here's boone's card from the 1974 set

which just features a spring training shot.

i know it's just a coincidence, but on the checklist boone's card sits just a couple after he makes an appearance on speier's card

topps went and put reggie jackson between them on the checklist. pretty random, i know, but i found it interesting that boone appeared on two cards two numbers apart. too bad speier wasn't slotted in at 132.
