baseball powers, activate!

i was looking for something on ebay a couple of weeks ago, and some 2021 topps gallery cards popped up. the one that made me take notice and place an order was this one:

that's a mookie betts masters of the craft insert. the reason i was drawn to it was because it immediately made me think of "superfriends" and saturday mornings spent watching cartoons. here's a screen capture of what i am referring to:

this would be from the wonder twins era superfriends, not the wendy and marvin era. 

it was the opening credits that had the superheroes flying through the radiant design which is similar to that of mookie's card. on that card, mookie looks a bit like "the greatest american hero" - not quite in control of his power of flight.  still, he's good at baseball and i probably watched a bit too much tv as a youngster.
