two all beef patties, special sauce, ramon cheese

like many americans, i was digging through my long ignored mark mcgwire card collection recently, and found a card that i am moving to my primary collection.

that's a 1999 upper deck encore mcgwired!! insert.

i don't consider it to be a full fledged dodger card, but i will consider ramon martinez there to be a lurker, and so into that mini-collection it goes.  the writeup on the back (not shown) is all about ramon, who served up some hittable cheese to big mac on opening day, 1998. mcgwire took ramon's offering deep for his first homer of the season (a grand slam for good measure) and he was off and running towards breaking roger maris's record.

i had forgotten how large my mcgwire pc was. maybe i'll find some other cards to salvage.
