there are 90 days between today, the winter solstice, and march 21, the spring solstice. who knows, however, what punxsutawney phil will predict in terms of winter and spring come next february. for baseball fans, however, we know that spring starts with pitchers and catchers reporting, and that is about 53 days from now, using february 12 as the reporting date.
