ronald acuna jr is in my collection

last week i showed a juan soto autograph card that i added to my collection in anticipation of soto achieving a hall of fame worthy career, and today i've got my similarly purposed ronald acuna jr auto to display. 

it's from 2019 topps clearly authentic. here's the back:

i bought a box of 2018 topps clearly authentic back in late 2018 hoping to land an acuna auto, but would up with max fried instead. right team, but not the guy i was hoping for. over the following four years, i had thought about picking one up, but didn't pull the trigger until a few months ago.

there is no doubt that acuna is a special talent, especially given his mvp season last year wherein he became the first player to go 40/70. he had missed 40/40 by three steals earlier in his career, so i suppose he was not going to allow that to happen again! his progress to major career milestones has been hampered by injury, but he is on track to put up some significant numbers if he can maintain his level of play for another decade or so.

i have yet to see him play in person as he is injured at the moment and so wasn't active when i visited atlanta recently, but he should be back for the 2025 season, which is also his year 27 season. i expect great things.
