just a quick post tonight to acknowledge adrian beltre's election to the hall of fame last night. here's his 2022 topps archives 1988 topps big foil insert
it was a tough call for the dodgers after the 2004 season to sign or let him enter free agency and i can't say i blame them for choosing the latter approach. once he moved on from seattle, things really clicked for him and i am happy to see him recognized as one of the greatest players of all-time!
i was also very happy (and a bit surprised) to see joe mauer elected on the first ballot. here's his 2010 bowman card
That Archives Topps Big card is really cool. Kinda surprised they decided to use photos of him with the Dodgers though. Anyways... very happy both of these guys are headed to Cooperstown. Helton too.
ReplyDeleteI saw Adrian play a lot with Seattle, and even though he was good, I would've never thought at the time that he'd go on to be enshrined.
