you da real mvp

like most (i hope), i've spent the majority of the last week at home. in doing so, i like to think i am helping "flatten the curve", but i will admit that i don't have a lot of faith in people in general to follow cdc guidance without some sort of enforcement. see spring breakers for an example.

at any rate, i want to salute those of you who are following the guidance (and not hoarding toilet paper). as kevin durant said (before he tested positive for covid-19), "you da real mvp".

to salute your performance here are some 2019 panini donruss optic steve garvey mvp signatures i've obtained over the last few months.

  1. Here in SoCal, I think most (but not all) people are actually making good choices and staying home and going out only when necessary, as evidences by the relatively light travel on our freeways during rush hour. I hope that those who actually are on the freeway are only essential workers. Stay safe!

  2. Nice "rainbow" there!
Do you ever feel like we're in the middle of a movie? I feel like this covid-19 lock down is only something a write could come up with.

    1. Yes it's surreal but with real ramifications.

  3. Knowing of Panini's love for 1/1's, I'd have to imagine that there's at least one (maybe two) for this card, yes?

    1. There's a green /5 and a gold vinyl /1. I don't plan to find either.

  4. These are exceptional cards. Such a cool throwback look. He’s got a great John Hancock to go with it!

  5. Nice rainbow! I think it's insane that there are people out there who think they are above the CDC's guidance and our local government's recommendations. When I saw the photos of people hanging out in Florida during spring break, it disgusted me. Wait. Maybe disheartened is a better word.

    1. i used to be much more optimistic about people in general. the last dozen years or so have made me more cynical.
