damages paid

you might remember that back in march, i opened some 2026 topps heritage, and was subjected to the fairly common quality issues with that release. one card's damage, a tearing of the bottom border paper on a black border parallel of hunter greene, was worth my time (in my opinion) to seek a replacement.

in august, i received the replacement

does this mean that the print run is 51? i assume they destroyed the one i sent in, or did they just repair it somehow? do they hold back some of these cards for just this purpose? so many questions. here's the back

now, this card gives the card i have representing the pete rose memorial patch a run for its money. i still haven't decided what i'll do with it. 

for my troubles, topps threw in a pack of 2024 heritage high number

let's see what that pack yielded:

a couple of dodgers i didn't need and a braves' green border parallel. that's ok, the pack was only the cost of a stamp.

once i took a closer look at the cards, i noticed the bottom border of the michael lorenzen card

it's like a perpetual motion machine! i chose not to send in the lorenzen for replacement, however. here's hoping there aren't these issues with 2027 topps heritage.
