however, i did question that fact after picking up some more of steve garvey's 2005 donruss studio portraits parallels. three of them, to be exact:
and "throwback threads" blue (numbered to 35).

am i color blind?
spoiler alert - i am not.
they all look the same, or very similar at the very least, however, the first two are "blue" parallels - "estrellas" blue (numbered to 25)
the third card is "leaf certified materials" white (numbered to 20)
there is a very slightly discernable difference in the border colors of the first two cards and the third, however, i would say that white is not the color that i would have designated for the certified materials card. my eyesight may be getting worse, but i still know my colors.

With football cards, Donruss often makes their parallels the colors of the foil printing on the card, not necessarily the card border color. I don't know if that is the case with these.
ReplyDeleteThankfully the numbered to gives you a clue. I agree with Angus that sometimes the color comes from the foil printing. Nice cards. Enjoy it all!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see a different when I first looked at the trio. But after reading about the "foil printing", I could see that the first two aren't like the third.
