one down, still nine to go

yes, i am back with another post sharing one of my "nefarious 9" cards that was recently obtained, meaning that while i get to cross one of my most wanted cards off of the list, another card has risen to replace it. and so the collecting beat goes on.

2007 upper deck nomar garciaparra star power insert

i hadn't typically put inserts on the list, but for nomar i made an exception since his dodger cards aren't that numerous and he was a favorite of mine.

here are some facts about the card:

position on the nefarious nine list: peaked at #4

how long was it on the list? the card was one of the last remnants of the pre-march 2025 cards on the list, so i am not 100% sure how long it had been there. i should have done a better job of recording back then. i would guess it had been there since may of 2024, since i knocked a lot of cards off the list around that time.

why was it on the list? nomar has had some relic and/or auto cards featuring him as a dodger recently, and every once in a while i will take a look at prices. this card popped up during one of those searches and i was surprised to find that i didn't own it.

how was it obtained? i added it to a sportlots order in june of 2026.

what replaced it on the list? 2009 upper deck o-pee-chee #562 james mcdonald black parallel

the mcdonald parallel will complete my dodger team set, as i added russell martin's black parallel 

recently.
