almost forgot to mention that i completed my 1971 topps set

boog powell's card was the last that i needed to complete the iconic, black-bordered set.
i also decided to go the lazy route and bought a 1975 topps set.  that means that the 1972 topps set is the only one in my way from having a complete run from 1970 through 2010.  therefore, i am putting out an apb for cards on my 1972 topps want list.  you have 'em, i want 'em.  you will be rewarded!

  2. Late '90s sets complete? You might be one of 12 who can say that.

  4. I'm also working on 1972 and have a lot of doubles. I'll see what I can do to help.

  6. Wow. That's quite the run. I'm working on a 1972 to 1986 run and I'm down to the 1973 set. But I'll be buying that one for sure.

  8. Wow. That's quite impressive. I've never really ventured into vintage so I can't help with '72, but good luck!

  10. thanks guys. the run of sets is a bit misleading, because my main run of real-time, hand-collated sets was from 1978-1988. even though i was still buying packs from 1989-1994, i bought factory sets those years. i hand collated a set again in 1995, but was back to packs and factory sets from 1996-2006. i built the 2007 and 2009 sets myself, but bought factory sets in 2008 and 2010. the pre-1978 sets (other than the 1975 set) had been ongoing builds of varying durations for quite a while.

  11. 75 is worth purchasing, being affordable. It's in my plans to buy anyway. Congrats on 71. Such a beautiful set!
