jacob degrom is in my collection

at some point in 2021, i decided i needed to pick up a jacob degrom autographed card. he was on my fantasy team and i followed his starts closely. i figured that he was likely going to win more cy young awards (he already had two at that point) and so i thought that i might as well buy before then. 

here's the card that i added to my collection:

it's a 2019 topps clearly authentic autograph. here's the back:

i don't recall what i paid, but it doesn't look like the prices on these cards reflect the fact that degrom is likely not going to put up the type of career stats needed for hall of fame consideration.

he is working his way back from tommy john surgery, and may pitch before this season is done. i hope he makes a full recovery and returns to his dominant ways. i have no plans to jettison this card from my collection, but it is (as of now) somewhat of a "what might have been" card.
